Hundred Thoughts Preschool is a premium preschool and offers the Reggio Emilia-inspired approach to learning. Developed in Reggio Emilia (Italy), this unique learning approach helps to bring all aspects of a child’s learning together in a holistic way, involving teachers, parents and the world around the child, where each plays a pivotal part in contributing to the child’s overall development. The premises are carefully designed to adequate natural light and there is a spacious rooftop garden and playground for outdoor activities.
Children find many ways to learn and discover through their senses and with their imagination, they can express themselves through drawing, dancing, singing, sculpture-modelling, painting and other creative play. The curriculum is structured to equip the children with the relevant skills and knowledge through meaningful activities like outdoor exploration, the creative arts, language and literacy. The educators at Hundred Thoughts Preschool seek to inspire the children by encouraging them to discover different ways to express their creativity and ideas including providing children with fun and engaging activities that enable them to explore and learn through songs, stories, poems, rhymes and hands-on tasks.
Hundred Thoughts Preschool also boasts a very diverse student population with children from more than 10 nationalities and this provides a multi-cultural environment for the children to learn from one another.
“The best classroom and the richest cupboard is roofed only by the sky”
Outdoor learning positively impacts children’s well being and development. Hundred Thoughts Preschool offers an outdoor exploration curriculum created to provide children with freedom and movement as well as opportunities to engage in physical activities, which in turn promote children’s sense of confidence and well-being.
Parents as Partners
Parents are the most significant people in their children’s lives. Hence, Hundred Thoughts Preschool believes in the importance of school and home partnership and encourages parents to engage actively in their children’s learning by collaborating with the school on the child’s developmental and learning goals. Only by parents working together with the school can the absolute best for the child be achieved.
Environment as 3rd teacher
The Reggio Emilia principle of environment as the third teacher is a setting designed to be not only functional but also beautiful and reflective of the child’s learning. It is the child’s relationship with parent, teacher, and environment that ignites learning.
Hundred Thoughts Preschool values the child as strong, capable and resilient, rich with wonder and knowledge. Every child brings with them deep curiosity and potential and this innate curiosity drives their interest to understand their world and their place within it.
